Rigid copper clad laminate is made of glass fibre cloth as supporting material. It is coated with glue for glass fibre cloth by dipping glue and dried into semi-cured sheet by oven. Then it is sheared according to certain size, designed by different proportion and thickness, and added on the upper and lower surfaces of the bonded sheet. Copper foil is applied and pressed in high temperature and high pressure press. Thus the semi-curable sheet is completely cured to form a copper clad sheet. Flexible copper clad laminate is covered by fiberglass cloth. It is directly coated with glue on a PI film and copper foil on the other side. This is the difference in their processing technology.
Rigid copper clad sheet is called CCL (Copper Cald Laminate), and flexible copper clad sheet is called FCCL (Flexibility Copper Cald Laminate).

Generally, rigid copper clad laminates are divided into CEM-1, CEM-3 (paper-based copper clad laminate) and FR-4 (glass fiber cloth-based copper clad laminate).
